MARRIAGE PROPOSAL PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS

30 MINUTES TO ONE HOUR · ONE OR MULTIPLE LOCATIONS · NEW ORLEANS OR ANYWHERE YOU LIKE

A marriage proposal happens exactly once, it lasts about ninety seconds, and neither person in this endeavor is thinking about a camera. Our job is to be invisible until it is over — positioned in advance, lens long, shooting from far enough away that the surprise stays a surprise.

We plan the whole thing with you beforehand: the spot where it will all go down and the place where the light will hit your faces just right, the walk-in direction, the time the light is best,  a signal so we know the moment is coming, and a simple back-up plan if the weather or a crowd changes things. New Orleans gives us courtyards, levees, balconies and quiet French Quarter corners that photograph beautifully and still feel private.

Once the ring is on and the shock wears off, we step out of the shadows, introduce ourselves, and shoot a short engagement-style portrait session on the spot — usually twenty or thirty minutes — so you leave with both the real, unposed moment and a set of portraits of the two of you on the day it happened.

Many couples turn this into a full engagement photography session later, and proposal images work beautifully for the announcement, save-the-dates and the wedding website.

Before You Ask

MARRIAGE PROPOSAL PHOTOGRAPHY QUESTIONS

HOW DO YOU STAY HIDDEN DURING THE PROPOSAL?
We scout the spot ahead of time, arrive early, and shoot with a long lens from a distance — usually reading as just another person with a camera in a city full of them. Your partner does not see us until you tell them we are there.
WHAT IF THE TIMING SLIPS OR PLANS CHANGE?
It happens constantly, and it is fine. We agree on a rough window rather than a hard minute, and a simple text signal so we know you are on your way. If the location gets crowded or the weather turns, we have a second spot picked in advance.
DO WE GET PORTRAITS AFTERWARDS?
Yes — that is the best part. Right after the yes, we step out and shoot twenty to thirty minutes of portraits while the two of you are still glowing. It is the most relaxed either of you will ever be in front of a camera.
HOW LONG UNTIL WE SEE THE PHOTOS?
A few favorites within 3 days so you have something to share with family, then the fully edited, color-corrected gallery 2-3 weeks after the session.
