30+ years of photographing people in far flung spots around the world, as well as right here in the mecca of creativity, New Orleans, has imbued Marc Pagani's portrait photography with a spirit of adventure and whimsy. Capturing you at your best while capturing the light and the environment at its best is what we DO best.
New Orleans portrait photography sessions run in the studio (also see the studio headshots subsection), in your home or office, somewhere in the city that actually means something to you, or anywhere in the world. I light for the face first and the environment second, I direct when direction helps and get out of the way when it doesn't, and I shoot enough frames that the good one is never an accident.
Every portrait photography session is delivered as retouched high-resolution files with print and web crops, usually inside two weeks. Archival prints are available for anything in your gallery.

PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY QUESTIONS
- HOW LONG DOES A PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION TAKE?
- Most studio Portrait photography sessions run 45 to 60 minutes, while location family and individual portrait sessions can last anywhere from 60 minutes to several hours, depending on how many photography locations, outfit changes, and/or different looks you'd like
- Studio or on location?
- Either. The photography studio gives complete control of light and environment - ideal for those hot summer New Orleans days. Location portrait photography can be your home, office, or a corner of the city gives context and usually a more detailed story. If you are undecided, tell me what the portrait is for and I will suggest one.
- What should we wear?
- What you wear for a portrait photography session totally depends on the vibe you're trying to get across. Ideally, it should be something you are comfortable wearing, something you feel good in, and something that is not brand new. Bring several options — a change of shirt or jacket doubles the variety without doubling the session.
- When do we see the photographs?
- The full basic-edit portrait photography gallery is available in roughly two weeks, with further requested edits usually available 1-2 weeks after requests made, in print and web sizes with high-resolution downloads of the agreed upon number of fully edited images. Archival prints are available from any frame.
- How much retouching is included?
- Basic editing is applied to every image in your gallery...that includes cropping, color balance, compositionm and exposured. For your selected favorites, additional editing will be applied...things like blemish removal, skin smoothing (if requested), etc. Heavier compositing is quoted separately.
- Do you travel for portraits?
- Yes. New Orleans is home, and travel anywhere else is quoted with the session so there are no surprises on the invoice.
