- How quickly can we get photos for social media after a live show?
- For touring acts and festival performances, same-night or next-morning turnaround of a curated highlight selection (typically 10–25 edited images) can be arranged so your team can post while the show's momentum is highest. Full concert sets and complete retouched promo shoots are delivered within 5–7 business days via high-resolution digital download.
- What licensing rights are included with musician portraits and promotional shoots?
- Promo and press sessions include usage rights tailored to independent artists and bands: streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp), social media, website promotion, tour posters, EPK press distribution, and album or EP packaging. Extended merchandise or national advertising licenses can be arranged based on your distribution.
- Can we shoot both inside your Tremé studio and on location in the same session?
- Yes. Marc's studio is in the Tremé, right next to the French Quarter and Marigny. Many artists choose a hybrid session — clean, high-impact studio lighting for press portraits, followed by environmental shots around historic courtyards and neighborhood streets.
- Do you shoot live concerts with flash or natural stage lighting?
- Live performances are almost always captured with available stage light and fast lenses, to preserve the lighting design, protect the audience experience, and follow venue photo-pit rules such as first-three-songs limits. For private showcases or dim club gigs, discreet off-camera fill can be arranged with venue permission.
- Can you shoot on 4x5 large format film for album covers or vinyl inserts?
- Yes. Marc shoots 4x5 large format film portraits with a traditional view camera. Each sheet is composed on ground glass and exposed individually, giving a dynamic range and texture ideal for vinyl gatefolds, lyric booklets and collector prints. - How should a band prepare for a promotional press or album shoot?
- Bring two or three coordinated wardrobe options that reflect your stage presence, without clashing patterns. Bring your main instruments and any props central to your look. If you have an art director, stylist or mood board, we review it together beforehand to plan lighting, color and crops — square for album covers, wide for streaming banners.
- Do you carry liability insurance (COI) for major venues and festival pits?
- Yes. Marc Pagani Photography carries commercial general liability coverage ($1M / $2M limits) and can issue a Certificate of Insurance naming festival promoters, theaters or venue operators as additional insured within 24–48 hours of booking.
- How far in advance should touring acts and festival performers book?
- For festival season (French Quarter Fest in April, Jazz Fest in late April and May) and busy fall tour runs in October and November, dates book months ahead. Touring bands playing a local club date or needing a quick press shoot during a tour stop should reach out as early as possible — we always do our best to fit traveling musicians in.
