A location portrait puts a person in the place that explains them: the kitchen, the workshop, the corner office, the stage, the street they grew up on. Where a headshot isolates a face, an environmental portrait tells the story around it.
I bring the portrait studio to you — battery-powered strobes, modifiers, stands and radio triggers — and blend that light with the ambient light of the space so it looks like perfect light simply showed up. Fluorescent ceilings, glass walls and harsh Louisiana sun are normal working conditions, not problems.

- What is the difference between a headshot and a location portrait?
- A headshot isolates your face against a clean or simple backdrop for profiles and directories. A location portrait includes your surroundings — your office, workshop, stage or neighborhood — so the photograph tells a story about who you are and what you do.
- Do we need a permit to photograph in New Orleans public places?
- Small portrait sessions in most public spaces usually don't need special arrangements, but some parks, venues and private properties have their own rules. Marc will flag any location that needs permission and help plan around it.
- What happens if it rains?
- Weather in New Orleans changes fast. We keep a covered backup location in mind for every outdoor session, and if conditions make the shoot impossible we reschedule.
- Do you need power or special space at our office?
- No. The lighting is battery powered and portable, so Marc only needs a little room to set up. A quick look at the space beforehand helps choose the best spots.
- Can we combine studio and location portraits in one session?
- Yes. Many clients pair clean studio headshots in the Tremé studio with environmental portraits on location for a complete set.
- Can you photograph our whole executive team on site?
- Yes. Marc can set up at your office to photograph leadership portraits and team members efficiently, with consistent lighting across everyone.
- What should I wear?
- Wear what you would wear doing the work you are known for, in solid colors that fit well. Marc reviews wardrobe and location together before the session so everything works with the setting.
- How are the files delivered and how can we use them?
- You receive a selected, retouched set of high-resolution files without watermarks, typically within 2-3 weeks. Usage rights are matched to your needs, from personal branding to press and marketing.
