ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS

An engagement session is not only an opportunity to get great photos of you and your fiancée, it's also an opportunity to vibe with your photographer and truly get excited about the big day coming up.
Sessions run an hour or two, usually across one or a few locations chosen because they mean something rather than because they are photogenic — the street you live on, the bar where it started, a stretch of levee at the end of the afternoon. Late light, 1 to 1.5 hours before sunset, can be magical, so start times move with the calendar.
The direction is minimal: a place to stand, something to do with your hands, and then you're encouraged to just be you and enjoy your partner's company for the camera. Yes, most images are posed, but there's a lot of flexibility and encouragement to have fun within that posing.
Engagement portrait photography sessions usually lead to images used in save-the-dates, website and press images, and — more usefully — as a shared reference for what you both like and what you do not, which makes the wedding day faster.

Before You Ask
ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY QUESTIONS
- What happens if it rains?
- New Orleans rain is usually short, violent and then gone. Every session gets a rain plan built in advance: an interior portrait location or a covered location option. Umbrellas photograph well, and a courtyard after a storm is actually prettier than a courtyard before one.
- WHERE SHOULD WE SHOOT OUR NEW ORLEANS ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION?
- Anywhere you'd like. We can shoot indoors or outdoors, at the Marc Pagani Photography studio, at a location or locations that have meaning to both of you, or you can leave it up to us to pick out the most photogenic spots.
- HOW LONG UNTIL WE SEE OUR ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS?
- We usually send out a few faves within 3 days of the shoot, then the fully edited, color-corrected gallery is sent out 2-3 weeks after the engagement photography session.
- WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR A NEW ORLEANS ENGAGEMENT PHOTO SESSION?
- We encourage people to wear what makes them feel good about themselves and to wear what feels comfortable. For location sessions, we are usually walking around for at least an hour, so wearing comfortable shoes or wearing your fancy shoes for the photos and changing into walking shoes between location is encouraged
